Fish and chips is a hot dish of English origin consisting of fried battered fish and hot potato chips. It is a common take-away food and an early example of culinary fusion. Fish and chips first appeared in the 1860s; by 1910 there were more than 25,000 fish and chip shops across the UK, and by the 1930s there were over 35,000.

Fish and chips are now a staple takeaway meal in numerous countries, particularly in English-speaking commonwealth countries including Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Ingredients

  • Boneless fish fillets – 200 gram
  • Refined flour – 4 tbsp
  • Rice flour – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Onions – 2 tbsp chopped
  • Green peas(peeled) – 1/2 cup
  • Fresh cream – 3 tbsp
  • Refined flour – 2/3 cup
  • Beer – 2/3 cup
  • Mint – 1/2 tbsp
  • Potatoes – 4
  • Crushed black pepper – to taste
  • Salt – to taste

To make chips take 4 non-starchy potatoes medium in size. Peel the potatoes and cut them in the shape of fries or chips. Boil the into salted water and freeze them into freezer for 3-4 hours.

After 3-4 hours remove the potatoes from the freezer and fry them into hot oil till it become golden in color. The Chips is ready.

 Lets make fish, take 200 grams of boneless fish fillets, cut into 2 pieces add salt and crushed black pepper on both the side of the fish. In a plate take 4 tbsp of refined flour add salt and crushed black pepper on top to taste, mix it and keep aside.

For batter take 1 tbsp of rice flour add 2/3 cup refined flour, salt and black pepper to taste. Add 2/3 cup of beer and whisk it to form a thick batter. Coat the fish in the flour kept in that plate and then dip into that batter and fry till it become golden in color. Fish is ready. 

In a frying pan 5-6 take 1 tbsp of oil add 5-6 tsp of sliced onion mix that for 1 minute. Add 1/2 cup of blanched green peas, add salt and black pepper to taste and mix that for 2 minutes. Crush or mash that peas and onions by mashing tool or folk. Add 3 tbsp of fresh cream mix it and remove it in a bowl. Add chopped mint leaves,  mix it well and serve on newspaper.
